Shangshi town

Shangshi Town, belonging to Pingxiang City, Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Pingxiang City, bordering Vietnam in the south, friendship Town in the southwest, Pingxiang town in the West and Xiashi town in the northeast. The administrative area of Shangshi town is 181.69 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 19989 people registered residence in the upper town.

In the second year of Tang Kaiyuan (714), Shixi Jimi Prefecture was set up in nanshangshi Town, Pingxiang City, under the jurisdiction of Yongzhou. In the 24th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1287), the western tuzhou of Shangshi was changed into Siming Prefecture. In January 1981, Xiashi commune was put under the jurisdiction of Pingxiang City. In October 1984, Xiashi commune was abolished and divided into Shangshi Township and Xiashi township. In 1994, Shangshi township was changed into Shangshi town. As of June 2020, Shangshi town has jurisdiction over one community and eight administrative villages. The town people's government is located in Shangshi community.

Historical evolution
