Yalong Township

Yalong township is located in the east of Dahua Yao Autonomous County, bordering Du'an Yao Autonomous County in the East and Guhe, LiuYe and Zhenxi townships in the west, South and North.

Introduction to Yalong

Yalong is located in dashishan area with poor natural conditions. After the anti-poverty conference, village roads crisscross, water tanks are scattered everywhere, and biogas digesters are everywhere. The production and living conditions of the masses have greatly improved. In recent years, the national economy of Yalong township has been developing continuously, rapidly and healthily. In 2003, the GDP of Yalong Township reached 26.741 million yuan. The total grain output increased steadily to 2776.8 tons, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 843 yuan. The rural agricultural industrial structure adjustment has achieved initial results. The processing industry of dry lotus root has gradually formed a leading industry. The planting area of dry lotus root is stable at more than 6500 mu, and the output of dry lotus root vermicelli reaches 2.1 million kg. The vermicelli is crystal clear, delicate, and resistant to cooking. It is a characteristic food suitable for all ages, and is sold in and out of the area. the territory is rich in bamboo and rattan resources, which is an important source of raw materials for bamboo and rattan processing industry in Du'an. As a result, many farmers embark on the road of becoming rich and well-off. the township government is located in the Nongya valley of HongRi village, in the northwest of Dahua County, 57 kilometers away from the county. The village has more mountains and less land. The total land area of the village is 29272 mu, the cultivated land area is 2179 mu, the total population is 2789, and the per capita cultivated land is 0.78 mu. It is a big stone mountain area worthy of the name of "nine mountains without any land". Yao population accounts for 25% of the total population of the village. In 2008, the total operating income of the village was 11.9569 million yuan, and the per capita net income was 2318 yuan. The economic development level of the village was in the middle and lower level of Dahua County.

Administrative Region Adjustment

In 2005, Zhenxi township was merged into Yalong township. After the adjustment, Yalong Township expanded its area to about 300 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over six administrative villages of Zhenxi, Zhushan, Shengli, Pantu, Youqi and nongxiang, with a total population of more than 29000.
