Historical evolution

Before 1934, it was under the jurisdiction of Lingyun county. In the 24th year of the Republic of China, when Guangxi Province adjusted the area of jiutiannandao to various counties, it belonged to Fengshan and was still set as Jinya township. In February 1950, the county was divided into four districts, named in sequence, with Jinya, Pingle and mouxuan township as the fourth district. In August 1951, the former Jinya Township became the fourth district. It was renamed Jinya District in January 1957 and Jinya commune in August 1958. In June 1961, the former Jinya commune was divided into Jinya, Hangdong and baxuan communes. In July 1962, the above three communes were merged into Jinya District, and in July 1970, the former Jinya commune was changed into a commune. In September 1984, the former Jinya commune was divided into three townships: Jinya, gengsha and Zhongting. Jinya Yao township has 6 administrative villages, 103 villager groups and 122 natural villages, including shangya, xiaya, Dongwang, pocha, menggan and Waili. In 1995, the total population was 12170, including 11354 agricultural population. Han nationality accounted for 44.82%, Zhuang nationality 39.35%, Yao nationality 15.81%.

There are rich mineral resources such as gold mine, sulfur mine, realgar sulfur mine, limonite, etc. Li Zhenghai, a famous expert in gold exploration in Guangxi, discovered the ultra-fine gold deposit and smelted the first gold in Northwest Guangxi, which was in Jinya township. We accelerated the construction of infrastructure, won 670000 yuan of support from the higher authorities throughout the year, completed the laying of cement pavement on the 500m street of the township government residence, built the township government office building, and built a 300m flood dike, effectively protecting nearly 200 mu of farmland. Invest 40000 yuan to build two 1700 meter long water conservancy channels in wailihangdong and dongwangnahe villages. With self raised funds of 69000 yuan, a bridge was built in the township government. The rural power grid reconstruction project has been completed, and the rural power grid reconstruction rate of the whole township has reached 90%. 600 underground water tanks with a total capacity of 114500 cubic meters, 1225 biogas digesters, 205 hectares of cropland for forestry and 6.61 million yuan of investment were built to complete the construction of 18 kilometers of four grade oil roads from Linyou to Hangdong and four four grade sand roads from Linyou to Hangdong. The township has 727 hectares of arable land, including 227 hectares of paddy field and 500 hectares of dry land. The main food crops are corn, rice and wheat. The total output of fruit is 600 tons. The township has 6190 large livestock, 9230 live pigs and 7273 local chickens, with a total meat output of 627 tons. The total output value of agriculture was 23.99 million yuan, the total income of township enterprises was 11.18 million yuan, the total output value was 5.1 million yuan, the financial income was 880000 yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1050 yuan.
