Beiya Yao township was founded in 1984, is a minority township. The township is located in the southwest of Yizhou District, Hechi City, adjacent to Qingyuan Town, shibie town and Beishan town in the East, laren Township in Du'an Yao Autonomous County in the south, Longtou Township in the West and Tongde Township in the north. Beiya street, where the township government is located, is 34 kilometers away from Yizhou district government. Provincial Highway 323 and asphalt road from Du'an to Huanjiang pass through the township. It is the southwest traffic artery and the hub connecting Jiagui, laren, lalie and Jiudu in Du'an County, as well as Yizhou Longtou and Yizhou.

Evolution of circumstances
In the early Ming Dynasty, it was called Longmen Tushe. In 1729, Longmen inspection department was set up. It was located in Beiya village of Xunzhou in Tang and Song dynasties. Its territory is as follows: the southwest borders on anding chieftain of si'en Prefecture at that time; the northwest borders on Yongshun chieftain, the southeast borders on Yongding chieftain, and the Northeast borders on luomuli and Zhongli. It governs 31 villages and 2 polders. After liberation, Beiya district was set up in 1949 to govern Luoyan, Beishan, Lali and other townships, and the area expanded. After Beishan, Lali, Tongde and other townships were cut out, the area decreased. In 1962, it was merged into Lali, Tongde and other townships again, and the area expanded slightly. In the 1980s, Lali and Tongde were cut out again, and another township was set up. In 1988, the whole township was divided into xiaodongtun in Dongkou village in the East and xiaodongtun in Dongkou village in the south Henggoutun of Ermen village, changlitun of Douzhu village in the West and xincuntun of Nawang village in the north, covering an area of 318.2 square kilometers. In May 2005, it was merged into Lali Township again, covering an area of 367 square kilometers, with 17 villages, 2 communities and 2 polders under its jurisdiction.
Administrative evolution
In the Tang Dynasty, it was the site of Beiya cave and Beiya village, in the Song Dynasty, it was the site of Xunzhou, and in the Ming Dynasty, it was the site of Longmen cottage. In 1729, Longmen inspection department was set up, which was in charge of Beiya, Beishan and 42 villages. Guangxu 30 years (1904) inspection division cut, Xuantong 2 years (1910) is divided into the Fifth District of Yishan county (Beiya District). In the 22nd year of the Republic of China, it was designated as a township, belonging to Huaiyuan district. In the 31 years of the Republic of China, the district was withdrawn and it was still a township. After liberation, Beiya district was set up in 1949, with Luoyan, Beishan, Lali and other townships under its jurisdiction. It was the Sixth District in 1950, and Beiya township was withdrawn in 1957. Hongguang people's commune was established in 1958, Beiya District in 1962, under the jurisdiction of 13 small townships, and Beiya people's commune in 1966. In 1984, Beiya township was set up, and some villages were divided into Lali township. In November 1984, Beiya Yao township was established, and in August 1987, some villages were divided into Tongde township. Beiya governs 13 village offices, 186 natural villages and 286 villager groups. in May 2005, Lali township was merged.

Lali township is located in the southwest of Yizhou City, 47 kilometers away from the urban area, with a total area of 125 square kilometers. It has a total of 1 society and 5 villagers' committees (5 of which are poverty-stricken villages at the autonomous region level), 68 natural villages, and a population of 18000.
