Xichang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Hepu County, Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located 30 kilometers northwest of Hepu County, adjacent to shagang town in the East, Beibu Bay in the south, across the sea from Beihai City, Fengfeng River in the west, and rhinoceros foot town in Qinnan District of Qinzhou City, with a total area of 175 square kilometers and a coastline of 57.35 kilometers.

Before December 1949, it belonged to Xichang Town, Nanhe Township and Beihe township. In September 1984, it was renamed Xichang town. By the end of 2018, there were 20750 households in Xichang Town, with a total population of 101002 and a permanent population of 35000. As of June 2020, Xichang town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 25 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Xichang town is located at No. 11, Chengxi Avenue.

By the end of 2018, there were 27 villagers' cooperatives in Xichang Town, with the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery of 2015.13 million yuan, including 361.86 million yuan of agricultural output value and 1337.84 million yuan of fishery output value. The financial revenue was 25.6 million yuan and the investment in fixed assets was 86.5 million yuan.

History of construction

Before December 1949, it belonged to Xichang Town, Nanhe Township and Beihe township.

In May 1951, it was the fourth district.

In November 1955, it was renamed Xichang district.

In September 1957, it was divided into Xichang Township and laowen township.

In 1958, it was merged into Xichang township. In November of the same year, Xichang Township and Shagang Township were merged into Xichang commune.

In March 1961, it was renamed Xichang district.

In January 1963, it was divided into Shagang commune and Xichang commune.

In September 1984, it was renamed Xichang town.

The main river in Xichang town is Dagou River, which is a tributary of Nanliu River. It originates from the east of Lingcun on the side of Lingding village committee of Wujia Town in Hepu County, flows into the estuary of the main stream of Nanliu River through the south of Wujia Town and the east of Xichang Town, and at the xuchuanbu in the southeast of Xichang town. The river section into the sea is called limugang River, which is located at the junction of Xichang town and Shagang town. Small rivers include Qiaojiang River and yangmeijiang river.
