Libu Town, located in the middle of Cangwu County, Wuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is 12 kilometers away from Shiqiao Town, 42 kilometers away from Wuzhou City. It is adjacent to Fengkai county and mushuang town in Guangdong Province in the East, Liubao town in Cangwu County in the west, Wangfu town in Cangwu County in the South and Shiqiao Town in the north.

Libu town has a total area of 253.28 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 12 villages, 1 community and 236 villager groups. The total population was 28633 (2017). National Highway 207 and Luoyang Zhanjiang railway pass through the town. The main rivers flowing through the town are Daping River, Liubao River and Dong'an river. There are Shuangdao reservoir and Xizhong reservoir. The cultivated area is 812.12 hectares. Among them, 599 hectares are paddy field and 213.12 hectares are dry land. Historical evolution

Libu town belongs to Guangxin county from Han Dynasty to southern and Northern Dynasties, and Cangwu county from Sui Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. The Ming, Qing and early Republic of China belong to Dong'an district. In the 22nd year of the Republic of China, it belonged to Dongyang Township and belonged to Dong'an district. In the 36th year of the Republic of China, it was called Libu township. In October 1950, it was called the ninth district. In May 1952, it was changed into District 11. It was still the 11th district in 1953. In September 1955, it was renamed Libu district. In December 1957, the district was withdrawn and merged into three townships, namely, Libu, wangwan and mushuang. In August 1958, Daxiang was abolished and Libu people's commune was established. In June 1961, it was divided into three communes, namely, Libu, wangwan and mushuang communes, belonging to Shiqiao district. In October 1962, it was withdrawn from the district and renamed as Libu district. In January 1966, it was called Libu commune. In September 1984, it was changed to township system. In 1993, the township system was changed from township to town system, which is called Libu town.

Libu town in Cangwu county is rich in pole bamboo, with a bamboo forest of more than 20000 mu and an annual output of more than 10 million pole bamboo. It is a well-known "hometown of bamboo", with a forest coverage rate of 82%. The main forest products are pole bamboo, wood, pine resin, jade osmanthus and star anise. Zhaoqing Fengkai to Hezhou Zhaoping secondary road (Planning): located in xincangwu County, it is mainly composed of g355, x213 and x216, passing through four townships of mushuang, Libu, Liubao and Shizhai, connecting Hezhou Zhaoping County in the West and Guangdong Fengkai County in the East. In this planning, the line is positioned as the first horizontal line of the trunk line in Wuzhou City, mainly considering the administrative division adjustment of xincangwu County in Wuzhou City. According to the new administrative division adjustment, the mileage of high-grade ordinary highway in new Cangwu is less, which seriously restricts the economic development of new Cangwu county. As an important part of the main trunk highway in new Cangwu County, the line can change the backward situation of highway traffic in new Cangwu County, greatly improve the travel quality of residents along the line, and promote the development of characteristic agriculture in main towns of new Cangwu county.
