Guangshengsi town
Guangshengsi town is located in the east of Hongdong County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, 17 kilometers away from the county. In the East and south, it is connected with SUPU Town, in the West with dahuashu Town, and in the north with Mingjiang town. The town governs 1 neighborhood committee, 27 village committees, 48 natural villages, 14530 households and 52869 people (2017). All of them are Han nationality. The town government is located in Gedong village, Guangsheng temple. In May 1984, the town was transformed into Guangsheng temple. In April 1985, the town government moved to Gedong village. The whole town is high in the East and low in the West. Except Gaoya and youershan, the rest are located in Pingchuan area. The transportation is convenient. The Hongdong Guangshengsi highway runs through the whole area from west to East. The coking plant has built a special railway line, which leads to the northwest and connects with Zhaocheng station. At the foot of Huo mountain in the east of the town, there is Huo spring, which is famous in the whole province. Surrounded by green cypresses, many clear springs gush out, with a total flow of 4.5 cubic meters per second. In addition to irrigation 102000 mu of water, some springs flow through Su Pu and Qu ting into Qu Ting reservoir every year.
Construction and development
The administrative area of the town is 57.6 square kilometers, with a total cultivated area of 2338 hectares. The main crops are wheat, corn, coarse cereals, beans and cotton. In 2002, the total sown area of crops was 2659 hectares, the effective irrigation area was 1412 hectares, the sown area of grain was 2556 hectares, and the total grain yield was 11197 tons. The total economic income was 155.6 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2799 yuan. As for township enterprises, in 2002, there were 692 township enterprises with a total operating income of 45.9 million yuan. The main enterprises include stone works, comprehensive plants, machinery plants, coal washing plants, etc. In terms of culture, education and health, in 2002, there were 32 schools in the town, with 8060 students, 212421 teaching staff, 2 hospitals and health centers, and health centers in all villages. Guangshengsi town has state-owned enterprises such as Shanxi Coking Group Co., Ltd., Shanxi Coking Group Linfen building materials Co., Ltd., Shanxi Huoquan Chemical Co., Ltd.
History and culture
Guangsheng temple is also a famous tourist attraction in the town. In 1961, the State Council designated it as a national key cultural relics protection unit with a cultural relics management office. In fangdui village, there are ancient cultural sites of the Zhou Dynasty. The oracle bone inscriptions of the early Zhou Dynasty were excavated in 1954, and three more oracle bones were found in 1982. Li Xueqin, a historian, once said that the discovery of fangdui oracle bones is the first oracle bone inscriptions in early Zhou Dynasty, which is of great significance. In addition, there are seven county-level cultural relics protection units, including daojue site, Gedong site, southern Qin site, gate tower of zaojue village, Erlang temple, Guandi temple in Xiazhuang, and stage of northern Qin. Shiqiao and Fengli villages in the town were the fiefs of Xu Huang, a famous general in the Three Kingdoms period. The allusions of Xu you Xier in youershan, Xu Huang Zhongyi in Fengli, Li Shimin's failure in Shiqiao, and the king of the small Tang Dynasty's pulling hemp and shooting chicken in the southern Qin Dynasty are widely spread.
