HEPO Street
HEPO street, belonging to Jiexi County, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwest of Jiexi County, connecting Longtan town in the East, Wuyun town in the west, Pingshang town in the southeast, Liangtian Township and Wuhua County in Meizhou in the north. HEPO street is the seat of Jiexi County Government and the political, economic and cultural center of Jiexi County. HEPO sub district covers an area of 128.6 square kilometers, including 12 square kilometers of urban area. It has 9 community residents committees and 26 villagers committees. By the end of 2018, the total number of households in the street was 40 thousand and 100, and the registered residence population was 133 thousand and 800, of which 66 thousand and 400 were agricultural population and 67 thousand and 400 were non agricultural population.
In 2017, the total agricultural output value of hEPO street was 553 million yuan; the total industrial output value above designated scale was 7.391 billion yuan; the total retail sales of social consumer goods was 2.573 billion yuan; the investment in fixed assets was 1.784 billion yuan; and the national and local tax revenue was 81.2485 million yuan.
In 2002, hEPO street was listed as a central town in Guangdong Province. In 2004, hEPO street was rated as the professional town of electronic organ technology innovation in Guangdong Province. In 2013, hEPO street was rated as "education strong Street" in Guangdong Province.
Historical evolution
In the second year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1629), there was a walled city in today's hEPO street, which was a Polder before the Republic of China.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, hEPO street belongs to the first district of Jieyang county.
In 1965, hEPO street was designated as the seat of Jiexi County.
In December 1986, the district system was changed to township system. The former hEPO district was merged with hEPO Town, which was called hEPO town.
On May 31, 2006, hEPO town was abolished and hEPO street was set up.
