Beiling town

Beiling town is located in the upper reaches of Dongjiang River in the north of Longchuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. It is adjacent to mabugang town in the South and Xi'ao town in the north. It is 87km away from Longchuan County and 40km away from Dingnan station in Jiangxi Province of Beijing Kowloon Railway. It is a town in Fengshuba reservoir and a fruit production base. It is known as "Qingli town" in Longchuan. The town covers an area of 107 square kilometers and has a population of 16500. It has jurisdiction over 8 village committees and 1 neighborhood committee. They are Gushi village committee, Gongxia village committee, Yanhua village committee, Shima village committee, mibei village committee, Shifen village committee, Shangpan village committee and Luopi village committee.

The origin of place names

Beiling, which means "Linggang with shells", can be seen that at the beginning of the town, Beiling occupied the main waterway. Beiling is called Beiling (xiaolinggang on the Bank of the river).

Historical evolution

Beiling town was built in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, known as "toulaolong, er Beiling". Beiling district was set up in 1949, and the Fifth District was set up in the same year. < br > it was adjusted to the twelfth District in 1952. It was renamed Beiling District in 1955, Beiling and Xi'ao Township in 1957, Beiling commune in 1958, Beiling District in 1983 and town in 1986.

Natural resources

Beiling town is a mountainous town, agriculture is the main industry of the town, rich in agricultural and sideline products. The existing arable land area is 11000 mu, mainly planting rice, sweet potato, soybean, peanut, corn and other crops; there are 120000 mu of forest land, with a forest coverage rate of 70.9%. Rich in wood and bamboo resources, rich in rosin, tung oil, tea oil, mushrooms, fungus, dried bamboo shoots and other Alpine products. With an annual output of more than 6000 cubic meters of wood and more than 2 million moso bamboos, it has a vast fruit planting area, including "100 mu demonstration site" of green plum. Small farms of farmers are all over the town. The main fruit varieties are Sanhua Plum, pearl plum, miscellaneous plum, persimmon, etc., with an annual output of 800 tons, including 700 tons of green plum and more than 10000 tons of green plum.

There are abundant mineral resources such as Shangpan iron mine, hydrous lead zinc mine, Shifen Yingshi mine, qiaokeng rare earth mine, xiayufei mine, etc. There are also high-quality kaolin with abundant reserves in Shangpan and Gongxia. The reserves of Tiekeng iron mine are 9.52 million tons with grade of 38-62; the reserves of Shifen Yingshi ore are 1.82 million tons with grade of 80-90; the reserves of water bearing lead and zinc are 1.53 million tons with grade of 38-65; the reserves of xiayufei ore are 1.86 million tons with grade of 73-90. Shangpan iron ore, hydrous lead-zinc ore and Gongxia kaolin have been developed with investment.

Geothermal resources

In the territory, there are two geothermal resources, the hanging wall and the water bearing area. The hot water flow is large and the temperature is above 90 ℃.

Aquatic resources

The reservoir has a vast water area, covering more than 20 kilometers. There are cage fish culture and jiewan fish culture. There are a variety of river fresh food, rich in sweet scented osmanthus, catfish, eel, river shrimp, etc. and there is a strong market for Beiling River fresh food.

Beiling has beautiful mountains and waters, dense bamboo and luxuriant vegetation, and beautiful natural ecological scenery. The strange stones along the river in the reservoir have beautiful scenery. There are yanxianyan, yaoshanzhai, Jiangjunzhai, Guanyin palace, leigongjiao, candle pier and other places of interest. Beiling silingyuan villa is under planning and construction in the old street of Beiling reservoir. It is a villa complex integrating leisure, entertainment, tourism and residence. There are two small hydropower stations in nanzhongba and yuekeng, and two private small hydropower stations in mibei and panpi.
