Over the years, the popularization rate of high-quality hybrid rice has reached 100%. In 2008, the total agricultural output value of the town was 78.77 million yuan. In addition, it has undertaken Nanshan modern agricultural industrial park in Shenzhen, with a total investment of more than 100 million yuan and a planned construction area of more than 7000 mu.

Before 2012, Heshi town had 10 primary schools and one middle school. Later, the government of Heshi town removed and merged some "sparrow" schools due to the order of Guangdong Provincial Education Bureau to create a strong education county. Marriage customs

Historical research

Since January 1949, the guerrilla armed forces in Longchuan County have been directly subordinate to the second Dongjiang detachment of the Guangdong Jiangxi Hunan border column of the Chinese people's Liberation Army

(hereinafter referred to as the second detachment of the east side longitudinal, commonly known as the second detachment of the East) leader. Under the strong offensive of the second East detachment, in April, Longchuan Chetian was the first to be liberated.

On May 14, 1949, the 13th Baoan regiment of Guangdong Province of the Kuomintang raised the banner in Laolong and cooperated with the second East detachment to annihilate Laolong's garrison, declaring the liberation of Longchuan.

Longchuan became the first liberated County in Guangdong Province (except Hainan Island). Before liberation, Heshi town used to be garrisoned with troops. After liberation, it left behind what many Heshi people call "barracks", of which two middle schools were built by former barracks.
