Shangyi Town, subordinate to Zijin County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwest of Zijin County. It is adjacent to Lantang town of Zijin County in the East, Duozhu town of Huidong County in the south, Hengli Town of Huicheng District of Huizhou City in the west, Haoyi town and feng'an town of Zijin County in the north. It is 80 kilometers away from Zijin County, 70 kilometers away from Huizhou City, 165 kilometers away from Shenzhen City and 212 kilometers away from Guangzhou city. Its total area is 178.20 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 25497 households in Shanghai had registered residence. As of June 2020, Shangyi town has one community and seven administrative villages.
In 2014, Shangyi town achieved a GDP of 351 million yuan, an increase of 10% compared with 2013. Among them, the total industrial output value was 148 million yuan, an increase of 15%, the total agricultural output value was 127 million yuan, an increase of 6%, the total output value of the tertiary industry was 28 million yuan, an increase of 15%; the tax revenue was 2.33 million yuan, an increase of 24.6%, the Chinese tax was 1.18 million yuan, the land tax was 1.12 million yuan, the deed tax was 30000 yuan; the rural per capita net income was 8280 yuan, an increase of 10% .

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Shangyi belonged to the ancient capital Shangyi Society (about).
In 1929, it belonged to Shangyi Township, the first district.

The origin of place names
It is said that the name of Shangyi town comes from a couplet of Guandi temple in lingtouwei: "Shangfu Hanshi, Yijie Taoyuan".

Shangyi town is a popular Hakka dialect, belonging to the Hakka dialect system of Meixian County. In Zijin Hakka dialect, it belongs to southwest Luqiang.
famous scenery
Feiyunhe scenic spot is located in juanpeng village, Shangyi town. There are feiyunhe waterfall and more than 670 hectares of primary secondary forest in the scenic spot. There is also a large Hakka residential cultural landscape of Zeng's nine halls and eighteen wells with a history of more than 300 years in juanpeng village.
