Hudong Forest Farm

Hudong forest farm is located in the southeast of Lufeng City, adjacent to Nanhai in the East and south, Jieshi town in the West and Hudong town in the north. Named after Hudong Town, established in 1958, it is a state-owned forest farm in Shanwei City.

Evolution of organizational system

It is located in Hudong Town, adjacent to the South China Sea in the south, with a coastline of 15 km. It was built in February 1958, with a design area of 23900 Mu and a business area of 17300 mu, under the jurisdiction of Shantou district. In 1983, it was under the jurisdiction of Huiyang District, and in 1988, it was under the jurisdiction of Shanwei City. Since 1958, the farm has paid equal attention to the construction of shelterbelts and timber forests, produced small and medium-sized Casuarina timber forests and firewood forests, built Casuarina shelterbelts, and became a new forestry base. In 1994, there were 164 cadres and workers in four work areas, including 16 cadres and 148 workers. There are 17100 mu of forest area, including 60000 mu of Casuarina equisetifolia, 8600 mu of slash pine, 2400 mu of unfinished forest, and 8100 cubic meters of standing trees. The total production and housing area is 25000 square meters, including one Dongfanghong tractor and one Jiefang tractor, one car and one program-controlled telephone.
