Jinxiang Town, belonging to Lufeng City, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southeast of Lufeng City, on the Bank of Jieshi Bay. It borders Jieshi town in the southeast, qiaochong town and Chengdong town in the northeast and northwest respectively. It has a coastline of 18.7 km long and a total area of 57.74 square kilometers. In late 2018, the registered residence of Jinxiang town was 60363. As of June 2020, Jinxiang town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 12 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

At the beginning of liberation, it was Jinxiang Township, belonging to four districts (Jieshi District).

In 1952, Jinxiang township was abolished, belonging to four districts.

In October 1957, Jinxiang township was established.

Jinxiang Yintan

Guanyinling

Guanyinling is located at the junction of Jieshi town and Jinxiang town. It is named after Guanyin Zen Hall (Shuiyue Palace). Jinxiang beach is located under guanyinling. The beach is 8 kilometers long. The water depth is 1.5 meters at 100 meters away from the shore, and 2 meters at 200 meters away from the shore. It's a natural swimming beach. There are many strange stones in front of the mountain, including the relics of Zhou Enlai and Ye Ting's crossing the sea during the great revolution and the dragon stone, and the largest stone carving "Zhenhai stone" in Shanwei City. Residence of Zhou Enlai

Zhou Enlai's residence is located in huangcuoliao village, Jinxiang town. In August 1927, after the Nanchang Uprising, Zhou Enlai and other leaders led the uprising to fight in Chaoshan area and arrived in Lufeng, where they lived in huangcuoliao village, Jinxiang. At the end of October of the same year, he went to Hong Kong by boat from Zhouzhu village and embarked on a new revolutionary journey. Built in 1927, it is a civil structure bungalow with an area of about 40 square meters. After the failure of the great revolution, it was burned down by the Kuomintang reactionaries and rebuilt after the founding of new China.
