Shenjiatun town is located in the southwest of Qiaoxi District, Zhangjiakou City, 4 kilometers away from the municipal government. It covers an area of 45 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 28729 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 1 community and 10 administrative villages, and the town government is located in shenjiatun village. Beijing Baotou railway, 110 National Road transit.

Shen Jiatun township was established in 1953, Yan Jiatun branch was established in 1960, Shen Jiatun township was restored in 1985, and Shen Jiatun town was changed in 1993. In 1997, it covers an area of 44.8 square kilometers and has a population of 22000. It governs 12 administrative villages, namely gaojiatun, shenjiatun, yanjiatun, sijietun, Xujiazhuang, Zhangjiafang, Dongxinzhuang, chenjiabao, yaozhanpu, xiayingtun, wapentou and nanchafang. In 2002, it has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages: shenjiatun, gaojiatun, yanjiatun, chenjiabao, sijietun, nanchafang, Dongxinzhuang, xiayingtun, Xujiazhuang, yaozhanbao and Zhangjiafang.
