Leiling town
Leiling Town, belonging to Chaonan District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the south of Chaonan district. It is located at the south foot of Danan mountain at the junction of Chaozhou, Puzhou and Huizhou cities (counties) in East Guangdong. It borders Huilai County from southeast to southwest, and Chengtian Town, Liangying town and Hongchang town from northeast to northwest. The area is 63.19 square kilometers. In late 2018, the population of Lei Ling town registered residence was 47044. As of June 2020, leiling town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 14 administrative villages.
In March 1950, the "Nanshan administration bureau" was abolished, and the two British returned to the jurisdiction of Chaoyang County, designated as the 10th District. In 1983, it was changed to the Liangying district. In 1986, it was changed into Liangying town. On September 24, 2019, leiling town (Litchi) was selected into the list of the ninth batch of national "one village, one product" demonstration villages and towns.

Historical evolution
Chaoyang County was set up in the first year of Long'an (397) in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and Liangying town belongs to Chaoyang County. In 819, Han Yu was banished to Chaozhou. At that time, Chaoyang County governed Xinxing, Xingren, fengen and Fenghuan. Liangying town is in Xingren township. It was originally called Wuyi, but later changed its name to Yingwei. Yingwei is homonymous with English, so it is also called Yingwei. In the late Qing Dynasty, another dyke was built on the South Bank of the river across from Yingwei, hence the name "liangyingwei". After that, the government set it up and named it "Liang Ying".
In the 17th year of the Republic of China (early 1928), the first party congress of the CPC Chaoyang County Committee was held in Yuanshan village, Liangying town.
In 1935, the Guangdong Provincial Government of the Kuomintang set aside some areas from Chao, PU and Hui counties, and renamed them "Nanshan administrative bureau" (equivalent to the third level county government). The administrative bureau (now the former site of Liangying hospital) set up two hospitals.
From 1941 to 1945, Chaoyang County government moved from Miancheng to Hefeng village. The county government was located in taiyili, Hefeng village.

In 1952, it was called District 12.
In 1956, it was called Liangying township.
In 1958, it merged with simapu and became Qunying people's commune.

Chao opera

Camp master
Yinglaoye is a kind of Han folk sacrificial activity in Chaoshan area of Guangdong Province. It is one of the local customs in leiling town. Yingshenying is a word in Chaoshan dialect. In Chaoshan area, "Laoye" refers to the patron saint of a town or village. It is usually held in the first month of the lunar calendar every year. In a town, every village takes turns to be "noisy" (equivalent to the temple fair in the North).
