Nanshai Town, belonging to Jinwan District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwest of Jinwan District. It is 40 km away from the urban area, 20 km away from Zhuhai airport and 50 km away from Macao. It is composed of more than ten islands such as nanshai, Gaolan Peninsula, Hebao and damang. The total area is 149.87 square kilometers. At the end of 2018, the population of South China's town registered residence was 13326. As of June 2020, nanshai town has a total of 3 communities and 5 administrative villages.

On July 1, 2006, Zhuhai municipal Party committee and municipal government implemented the system reform of "integration of district and town" in Gaolan Port Economic Zone and nanshai town. Nanshai town was transferred from Jinwan District to Gaolan Port Economic Zone.

In 2018, there were 540 industrial enterprises in nanshai Town, including 140 Industrial Enterprises above designated size.

Historical evolution

In 1957, Nanshui township was established, belonging to Zhongshan County.

In 1961, Nanshui commune was changed to Zhuhai county.

In 1979, Zhuhai was set up as a city under the jurisdiction of Jinwan District.
