Gongming Street

Gongming street, belonging to Guangming District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the west of Guangming district. It is adjacent to Guangming Street and Xinhu street in the East, Songgang street in Bao'an District in the west, Matian street and Fenghuang street in the south, and Huangjiang Town in Dongguan City in the north. It is the northwest gateway of Shenzhen with an area of 23.6 square kilometers.

In 1929, a fair polder was built at the junction of heshuikou and Shangcun. In 1931, it was renamed gongmingwei. In May 2018, Gongming office was renamed Gongming street, which is under the jurisdiction of Guangming district. It has a wide range of buildings, such as the Chen ancestral hall of Xitian Yuncai, the Mai ancestral hall of Gengyin, the Fan Bo family school, and the Mai family school of Jiangwei.

By the end of 2016, 144 thousand and 600 residents of Gongming street had registered residence, of which 10 thousand and 600 were registered residents and 134 thousand were migrants. As of June 2020, Gongming street has five communities under its jurisdiction. In 2017, the total fixed assets of Gongming Street reached 1.621 billion yuan, an increase of 33.5% over the previous year. One new listed company was added.

Historical evolution

In October 1958, Guangming people's commune was formed together with Guangming farm.

On January 1, 1993, Ming town was under the jurisdiction of Bao'an District of Shenzhen city.

On July 1, 2004, Gongming town was changed into Gongming street.

In 2007, Gongming was under the jurisdiction of Guangming New District.

In 2017, Gongming office was established.

In May 2018, Gongming office was renamed Gongming street, which is under the jurisdiction of Guangming district.

It is the ancestral hall of the Chen Clan in Xitian. It has a certain cultural heritage reference value for further understanding the layout and facade structure evolution of Guangfu ancestral Hall in Shenzhen.

Gengyin maigong Temple

Gengyin maigong ancestral hall is located in Jiangshi road in the north of Shiwei village, Jiangshi neighborhood committee. It is the representative of Guangfu ancestral hall in Ming Dynasty, which has witnessed the development of Mai family in Shiwei old village.

Chiang Wai Mai family school

The Mai family school in Jiangwei is a typical representative of Guangfu family school in Qing Dynasty, which reflects the history of traditional college library culture and education.
