Fengcai street, belonging to Zhenjiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the middle of Zhenjiang District. It is adjacent to Zhenjiang and Donghe street across the river in the East, the confluence of Zhenjiang and Wujiang in the south, Wujiang and Wujiang district across the river in the west, and Wuliting village in Shiliting town in the north. The area is 3.02 square kilometers. It is the political, administrative and cultural center of northern Guangdong.

In 1928, Fengcai Street belonged to the first district of Qujiang County. In June 2004, it belongs to Zhenjiang District. By the end of 2016, the number of registered residence in the street was 62 thousand and 200, with 53 thousand and 700 permanent residents and 2474 floating population. As of June 2020, Fengcai street has a total of 11 communities under its jurisdiction. The sub district office is located at No.7, Piao Po Tong.

History of construction

In 1928, Fengcai Street belonged to the first district of Qujiang County.

In 1941, it belonged to Taiping Town, the first district of Qujiang County.

In October 1949, it belongs to Chengguan District.

On November 25, 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Shaoguan City.

In 1956, Fengcai street was abolished and its area was divided into Taiping Street, Fengdu street and Nanmen Street.

In 1959, Taiping, Fengdu and Nanmen were merged into Shaoguan City office.

In 1960, Shaoguan City office was abolished and Central People's commune was established.

In June 1961, the Central People's commune was abolished and merged into the three people's communes of Nanmen, Heping and Taiping.

In 1975, it belongs to Beijiang district.

In June 2004, it belongs to Zhenjiang District.

Elegant building

Fengcai building is located next to the post office building of Fengcai Road, Zhenjiang District, facing Wushui in the West and Zhenjiang in the East. It was built by Qian Yong, the magistrate of Shaozhou in the Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty (1488-1505) in memory of Yu Jing, a famous Minister of Northern Song Dynasty, and has been rebuilt many times. Yu Jing has the reputation of "more colorful and moving towards the end", so it is called Fengcai building. Chen Baisha, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty, wrote "fengcailou" in soft and vigorous ink, which was carved into a stone plaque and hung high on the gatehouse. The style building is about 22 meters high, with double eaves and green tiles. The top is triple cornice with a small dome in the middle. The whole building is majestic, unique and magnificent. It is the landmark building of Shaoguan City.

Maofeng Park
