Luota Township
Luota township is located 45 kilometers south of Longshan County, Hunan Province. It is adjacent to Hongyan town in the East, Jiaohe town in the south, Zhaoshi town and Jiaba town in the west, and Maoping town in the north.
Geography and climate
It is a village inhabited by Tujia people. The township is high in all directions and low in the middle. The highest altitude of Luota boundary is 1430 meters. There are many caves in the area. The average annual temperature is 13.4 ℃, the rainfall is 5112 mm, and the frost free period is less than 250 days. It is foggy in spring, summer and autumn, and frozen for a long time in winter.
Industrial Development
The main crops are rice and corn, and the main economic crops are flue-cured tobacco. Coal reserves are abundant. There are 1 middle school, 11 primary schools and 2 health centers. All villages have access to roads. There are the historical site of wuzhuting in the Five Dynasties, three plants of Metasequoia glyptostroboides, all of which are millennium old trees, and karst caves known as "National Geopark".
historical origin
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Shangluo township. In 1950, it belonged to manhu Township, Luota Township and Swiss township. It was a car washing commune in 1958, Luota Township in 1961 and Luota Township in 1984. The total area is 167 square kilometers. There are 798 hectares of paddy fields and 126 hectares of dry soil.
