Gaoqiao Town is under the jurisdiction of Nanjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province.

On December 23, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Bazhong City to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Bazhou District and other three counties (districts) (cfzm [2019] No. 23): Gaoqiao Township and hepinggang Township were abolished and Gaoqiao Town was established. The administrative area of Gaoqiao Town was the former Gaoqiao Township and the former Pinggang Township, and the people's Government of Gaoqiao Town was stationed at 193 Gaoqiao street.
