Luguan town

Luguan Town, subordinate to Xinhua County, Loudi City, Hunan Province, is located in the west of Xinhua County, 15 kilometers away from the county, with an area of 118.49 square kilometers and a population of 53969 (2017). Hunan Guizhou railway, louhuai Expressway and s544 provincial road cross the town.

Historical evolution

It belonged to Zunyi Township in 1949, six districts in 1950 and eleven districts in 1952. It was withdrawn in 1957 and divided into three townships: Luguan, Yunxi and Qingshan. Luguan commune was established in 1958, Luguan District Office was set up in 1961, township was restored in 1984, and Luguan, Yunxi, Qingshan and Shixin townships were merged into Luguan town in 1995.
