Shanshan town is located in the north of Louxing district. It is the first established town in Louxing district. In 2015, the former Shanshan town and Xiaobi Township merged to form a new Shanshan town. Shanshan town is 10 kilometers away from Loudi City and 96 kilometers away from Changsha City. It is the bridgehead for Loudi City to "connect with Changsha, build the North Gate" and integrate into the construction of "3 + 5 Urban Agglomeration" in Hunan Province. At the same time, it is also the development fulcrum of the northern urban area of Loudi City's development strategy of expanding to the north and moving to the south. Historical evolution
In 1950, it belonged to Shanshan Township and other townships. In 1956, it merged into Shanshan township. In 1958, it belonged to Loudi commune. In 1961, it divided into Shanshan commune and Enkou commune. In 1968, it merged into Shanshan commune. In 1984, it was reformed into a township. In 1986, it was established as a town. On November 23, 2015, the office of Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs issued the reply of Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on Approving the adjustment plan of township division in Louxing District of Loudi City (xmxf [2015] No. 65), and approved the establishment of Shanshan town by combining Xiaobi Township with Shanshan town.
