Jiangshi town

Jiangshi town is located in the southwest of Hongjiang City, adjacent to Qiancheng town in the East, Ma'an township of Huitong County in the south, Tuokou town in the west, Yuanhe and Yanlong towns in the north, with a total land area of 95.60 square kilometers.

Location area

With convenient transportation, zhiliu railway and national highway 209 pass through the territory, 60 kilometers away from Huaihua City and more than 50 kilometers away from Zhijiang airport. It is 9 kilometers away from the city governing Guizhou. The town government is located in Jiangxi street.

Administrative division

Jiangshi town has jurisdiction over: Jiangxi Street neighborhood committee; 13 village committees, including Honglian village, Longwei village, laotuan village, Zhutan village, Shenao village, banliwan village, jianggongxi village, Jingzhu village, Liping village, wengpo village, Shuanglong Village, Yuexi village and baomuxi village.

Historical evolution

Before the founding of new China, it was Jiangshi township. After the founding of new China, it belonged to four districts (Tuokou District). In 1956, the district was withdrawn and Jiangshi township was established. In 1958, Jiangshi people's commune was established. In March 1984, the commune was withdrawn and the people's Government of Jiangshi township was established. In October of the same year, the township was transformed into a town and the people's Government of Jiangshi town was established.

The town has 13 administrative villages, including Honglian, Longwei, laotuan, Zhutan, Shenao, bansuwan, jianggongxi, Jingzhu, Liping, wengpo, Shuanglong, Yuexi and bomuxi, 1 neighborhood committee, 168 Village (neighborhood) groups, 5743 households and 13791 people (in 2018), including 1431 non-agricultural people and 2029 ethnic minorities. The highest point is at baobaojian, wengpo village, 800 meters above sea level; the lowest point is at the river side of Longwei village, 180 meters above sea level. It is a subtropical monsoon climate with mild climate, abundant rainfall and sunshine. The annual precipitation is between 1310-1550 mm.
