Wenxi Township

Wenxi Township, Jingzhou County, Huaihua City is under the jurisdiction of Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County. Wenxi township was established in 1950, changed into a commune in 1958, merged into Gantang commune in 1959, resumed in 1961, and restored to township in 1984. It is located in the northeast of the county, 17.3 km away from the county seat, covering an area of 115.26 square kilometers (2017), with a population of 10285 (2017), of which 37.5% are Miao and 37.5% are dong. The township government is stationed in Shuitun. Jinghong and Hongsui highways cross the border.

The urban framework is extended to 80 square kilometers, the built-up area is 52 square kilometers, and the urban population is 520000 (2009 data).
