Lianshan Township
Lianshan township is located in the south of Huitong County, Hunan Province. It connects Huitong County in the north, Taiyangping Township and Gantang town in Jingzhou in the south. It is known as the "South Gate" of Huitong County. National Highway 209, zhiliu railway and Qushui River pass through it. The township has a total area of 73 square kilometers (2017), with 58221.8 mu of mountain forest and 18873 mu of cultivated land. It has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages including Jianshe, Lianshan, Lianhe, Daping, Xuanshui, Xingfu, Gaoyong, BaoZhao, Shiban, Liuhuang, guigan and Gaotuan, 117 villager groups and 14117 people (2017).

Lianshan township is a big agricultural township with rich agricultural resources. There are 15 shipyards with an annual output value of more than 20 million yuan, 20 sand digging factories with more than 30 sand digging boats with an annual output value of more than 3 million yuan, 1 prefabrication factory with an investment of 1 million yuan and 2 wood processing factories with an annual output value of more than 16 million yuan. In recent years, farmers engaged in shipbuilding industry in Lianshan Township began to export labor services. Many farmers engaged in shipbuilding industry across provinces and brought shipbuilding technology to Myanmar. In 2001, Huitong County Government and the Chinese Embassy in Laos led the technology to Laos. Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Russia and other countries have Lianshan farmers shipbuilding experts. In 2005, there were 15 large-scale shipyards in the township, with more than 800 ships. The farmers in Burma only have more than 200 shipbuilding vessels in Myitkyina Province, with an income of about 20000000 yuan.
