Jiangdong Yao township is located in the southeast of Lanshan County, at the north foot of hululing. The township government is 28 kilometers away from tafeng town. It borders Linwu County in the East, Lianzhou City in Guangdong Province in the south, Suocheng town in the west, Maojun town and tafeng town in the north. The township is named after piancun cave. About one kilometer away from home, Jiangdong fort was set up in the early Ming Dynasty, which was under the jurisdiction of Ningxi Suo city and was called "Baoli" in history. It is said that there was a cave behind Baoli village at that time, which often flowed magma and thin mud. The cave was named after it. Jianjiangdong township was established in 1950, Jiangdong Yao township was established in 1953, peace loving people's commune was renamed in 1958, Jiangdong Yao commune was reestablished in 1961, and Jiangdong Yao township was changed in 1984. the township has a total area of 79.06 square kilometers (2017), 241.8 hectares of cultivated land, 8266.7 hectares of forest land, 4380 people (2017), and 1995 people of Yao nationality. It is high in the southeast and West, low in the north, and flows from south to north. The alpine mountain area with overlapping mountains, continuous peaks, nine mountains, half water and half farmland is one of the main forest areas in Lanshan County, and the county road Lanjiang road runs through the territory. The township economy is dominated by forestry, with abundant forest stock, rich in fir, pine, bamboo and so on. There are bamboo and wood processing enterprises, chopsticks are sold to other provinces and cities. There is one primary school and one medical institution.
