Xieji Bridge

Xieji bridge is located in zhanggongqiao village, Jinyun County. It originates from shuangchuankeng of Xuefeng mountain, which is more than 1100 meters above sea level. It runs through the village from north to south. In the south of the village, it joins the stream from Shuanggang bridge and flows into Xinjian stream.

Xieji bridge was rebuilt in 1937. It spans shuangchuankeng from east to west. It is a three hole stone arch bridge with a total length of 34 meters, a width of 2.5 meters and a total height of 6.6 meters. The bridge deck is paved horizontally with strips of stone, with solid railings on both sides and watchposts on top. Steps are set at the north and south ends to connect with Wan'an Dyke on both sides. On the south side of the center of the bridge deck, the regular script "Xieji bridge" is engraved, and on the north side, the regular script "Ruan Xizhen, county magistrate of the Republic of China in September 26" is engraved.

The chief advocator of Xieji bridge construction is Mr. Ma Rufei, the 40th grandson of Geng Gong, who was a teacher of the 11th Normal School of Zhejiang Province at that time. His proposal was unanimously approved and strongly supported by sun and other villagers nearby. At that time, FeiGong's students, who were then general Chen Cheng of the Ministry of national defense of the Republic of China, sponsored two hundred silver dollars; general fan Songfu of the Ministry of national defense of the Republic of China sponsored two hundred silver dollars; Wang Weiying of Zhejiang Provincial Drug Control Committee and Relief Committee of the Republic of China sponsored one hundred and fifty silver dollars; and Jin Wang Zhou, a famous person, sponsored one hundred and fifty silver dollars The whole project, with a total investment of more than 4000 silver yuan, took two years from 1936 to 1937. There was a stone tablet at the end of the bridge, but it was destroyed during the cultural revolution. In 2003, when the bridge was rebuilt, a new granite stone tablet was erected at the east end of the bridge, inscribed with the list of donors at that time. Since the 1970s, the transportation infrastructure has become more and more perfect. The township roads from the new town to each village have been built one after another. The stone arch bridge has been built several meters downstream of Xieji bridge, but Xieji bridge is still the main passage for villagers nearby.

In 2009, the cultural relics survey team of Jinyun County found that the Xieji bridge was well preserved and well dated, and was sponsored by several generals of the Republic of China.
