Yitang town is under the jurisdiction of Lengshuitan District, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province.

General situation of villages and towns

Yitang town is located in the southeast of Lengshuitan District, adjacent to Dazhongqiao town of Qiyang County in the East, Lushan town in the south, lanjiaoshan town in the West and zhushanqiao town in the north. In June 1995, the former Baitang and menggongshan townships merged to establish Yitang Town, named after Yitang village, where the town government is located. There are 1 small (1) reservoir, 5 small (2) reservoirs and 2300 ponds in the territory. There are more than 40000 mu of foreign pine and more than 20000 mu of Citrus in the town. National Highway 322 is 10 km long and Hengyang Kunming expressway is 5.8 km long. The town covers an area of 82.19 square kilometers (2017), with 29884 mu of paddy fields and 776 mu of dry land. It has jurisdiction over 258 groups of 1 neighborhood committee in 26 villages, with 17471 people (2017).

The town is rich in red soil and yellow soil, which is good for farming. From 1984 to 1995, agriculture developed rapidly. The former Baitang township has formed six major industries dominated by "grain, fruit, pig, fish, forest and vegetable". The original menggongshan Township formed a characteristic industry led by Ponkan, and initially developed and built a comprehensive ecological agriculture demonstration park in menggongshan. The new comprehensive agricultural market has become a distribution center of agricultural products radiating Qiyang and Zhishan, with an annual tax revenue of 100000 yuan. The newly built Yitang town middle school has complete facilities. By the end of 2003, the adjustment of rural industrial structure has formed four bases, namely, the 10000 mu seed production base with Dongfeng Village as the center, radiating Yaojia and pantang; the 16000 Mu Shili watermelon corridor base with menggong mountain as the center; the 10000 mu Ponkan base with Chahua village as the center; and the 10000 mu high-quality rice base with Longjing, Jingtang and Xiaotang as the center. Watermelon industry has become the key product of the town. High quality watermelons such as black beauty are sold to Guangdong and Guangdong markets, and also drive the development of catering and tourism services in the town. The main leading agricultural products processing enterprises in the town include Yongzhou Yuanhao Green Food Co., Ltd., QUANHUI Canning (Branch), Xike Canning (Branch), Xianghe soymilk, etc. In 2003, the total industrial output value was 31.42 million yuan, the total agricultural output value was 105.86 million yuan, 425 township enterprises were developed, and the per capita disposable income of farmers was 2980 yuan.

The landform of the demonstration area is widely representative in the red soil area of central and southern Hunan, and has certain uniqueness. Its representative is that the land area structure is about 6:3:1, that is, hilly land accounts for about 60%, paddy field and dry land account for about 30%, others account for about 10%, and most of them are red loam. Its unique feature is gentle slope and deep soil layer.

The demonstration area has a humid monsoon climate in the middle subtropical zone. The climate is mild and humid, with sufficient sunshine and rainfall, four distinct seasons, long frost free period and short severe cold period, which is suitable for the growth of a variety of crops and other plants. The annual average temperature is 17.6 ~ 18.6 ℃, the extreme minimum temperature is - 7.4 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 39.8 ℃, the annual sunshine hours are 1540 hours, the frost free period is 294 days, and the average annual precipitation is 1200-2000mm. The relative humidity is 80%.

hydrology

Located in the middle reaches of Shuangpai reservoir irrigation area, the main canal and nine or ten branch canals run through the whole area, of which the average annual flow of the main canal is 23 m3 / s. There are no big rivers and rivers, only Yanjiang Creek and some nameless streams, and the runoff is less than 20m3 / s. The total length of ditches in the area is 210 km, including 1 small-scale reservoir, 5 small-scale reservoirs, 2300 mountain ponds, and the total storage capacity of mountain ponds and reservoirs is 200000m.

Biological resources

There are more than 3000 kinds of plant resources. There are more than 230 families and 2700 species of higher plants alone, accounting for 68% of the province and 10% of the country. More than 2000 animal species and more than 1000 wild animals have been found. Yongzhou is also the original center of rice, citrus and other crops, and has made special contributions to the agricultural production in China and the world.

Social and economic situation

The total area of the town is 82.19 square kilometers (2017), including 100000 mu of red soil, mountain land and 30000 mu of paddy field. There are 26 villages and 1 neighborhood committee in the town, with a total population of 17471 (2017). National Highway 322 runs through the town, and hengkun Expressway passes through the town. It only takes four hours to get to Guangdong and Guangxi by road. The seventh and eighth branch canals of Shuangpai Irrigation District span the whole town. The town has a large red soil area, rich water resources and convenient transportation. Since the development of "black beauty" watermelon planting in 1996, the watermelon planting area has increased year by year. In 2005, it has developed into a continuous "Ten Mile watermelon corridor" of 16000 mu. In 2006, the whole land area of "black beauty" watermelon has exceeded 50000 mu. At the same time, driven by Yitang Town, the black beauty watermelon planting in Yongzhou City presents a leap forward development. According to statistics, the watermelon planting area in Yongzhou City has grown from 30000 mu in 2005 to 70000 mu, initially forming a new pattern with Yitang town as the core planting area, radiating and driving the comprehensive development of surrounding counties and towns. According to the investigation, there are 21 villages and 612 households in the town ready for planting Black Beauty watermelon, and 27 professional seedling households with more than 100000 seedlings. At present, Yitang town is the largest demonstration area for continuous planting of black beauty watermelon in China.

The town uses the natural place name of Yitang village. A long time ago, the village built an Anzi on a hill and named it yitangguan. The name of the village is the same as that of the village. Later, when the commune was built, it was changed to Yitang, which is still in use today. At the beginning of liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of Chaoshui Township and Jiyi township. In 1985, it belonged to Qiyi commune and Datong commune. In 1961, it was rebuilt into menggongshan commune and Baitang commune, respectively under the jurisdiction of chujiangwei district and youtingwei district. In 1995, menggongshan and Baitang were merged into Yitang town.
