Jingpo town

We agreed to abolish Jingpo Township and establish Jingpo town. The administrative region of Jingpo town is the former Jingpo Township, which has jurisdiction over 16 villages and one community neighborhood committee, with a total area of 88.99 square kilometers (2017) and a total population of 19636 people (2017). It borders Daping town in the East, Wushan town of Lechang City in Guangdong Province in the south, Yanshou Yao Township in the West and beijiaoquan town in the north. The town people's government is located in jingpowei (formerly Jingpo Township People's Government).

Evolution of organizational system

Jingpo used to be called jingpi, because the Leishui River passed through here, there was a shuipi, and there was a well near the shuipi, later it was called Jingpo. Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Wenming township. In 1919, it belonged to Nanyi district. In 1938, it was called Jingpo township. In 1941, it was renamed pingpo township. In October 1949, it belonged to the second district. In 1956, it was withdrawn from the district to Jingpo township. In October 1958, it was merged with Quanshui and Daping to form Dongfeng people's commune. In November 1959, it was divided into Jingpo people's commune. In 1984, it was withdrawn from the commune to Jingpo township. In 2015, the administrative division was adjusted to withdraw the township to build Jingpo town. In April 2016, five villages were merged and reduced.
