Deng Yuantai town

Dengyuantai town is under the jurisdiction of Wugang City. It is located in the southwest of the city, 13 kilometers away from the urban area, with an area of 142.16 square kilometers (2017) and a population of 64185 (2017). The town government is located in Deng Yuantai. Bamboo (city) city (step) highway runs through the whole territory.

Evolution of organizational system

In 1950, it belonged to the second district. Rocket commune was established in 1958, and Zhuanwan commune, Qingxi commune and Shanlan commune were established in 1961. After many adjustments, in 1969, it became Zhuanwan, Qingxi and Chengxi communes. In 1981, Qingxi commune changed its name to Jiangtang commune, and in June 1984, it was changed to township. In December of the same year, Dengyuantai town was built in Zhuanwan township. In April 1995, Jiangtang Township and Chengxi Township were merged.
