Hengbanqiao town

Hengbanqiao town belongs to longhui County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. It is located in the southwest of longhui County, adjacent to hexiangqiao town in the East, nanyuemiao town in the south, Laotian town in Dongkou County in the West and xiyangjiang town in the north. The town government is 28 kilometers away from longhui County and 5 kilometers away from 320 national highway.

There are 46472 people in the town (in 2017); the total area of cultivated land in the town is 25779 mu, including 18190 mu of paddy field and 7589 mu of dry soil. The annual grain output of the town is about 18000 tons, and the per capita income in 2010 is 1667 yuan. The total forest area is 63920 mu, which is rich in forest resources.

Evolution of organizational system

Before liberation, the town belonged to Wugang County, and was listed as the Fourth District of longhui County in 1950. Hengbanqiao district was established in 1961. In 1995, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the former Liushan Township, hengbanqiao town and luozituan Township were merged to form the present hengbanqiao town.
