Guanyinyuan Street building in Beijing

Guanyinyuan tower is located in Shangjie, guancaiyuan, Xuanwu District. It is located between guancaiyuan street and Zixin road. The West guanyinyuan is on the west side of the road, facing north from south, with a four storey hall. The East guanyinyuan is on the east side of the road, with 5L rooms. The two courtyards are connected by a cross street building, which forms a door opening for cars and horses to pass through. Guanyinyuan tower is the only surviving one in old Beijing. It is a special form of temple architecture in Beijing.

The south side of the building is engraved with the word "Jue'an" and the north side is engraved with the word "Jin Sheng", which was engraved in April of the 10th year of Daoguang (1831). In the early years, it was the only way to the capital's first prison. When escorting prisoners, "golden rope" came, which meant that the standard of law was unshakable. When prisoners were released from prison, what they saw was "Jue an", which meant that they were awakened again.
