Jinweizhou Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Hengnan County, Hengyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the southwest of Hengyang City, bordering Lijiang town in the East, Jianghe Township and Baifang town of Changning City across the river in the south, grain town of Qidong County in the West and Maoshi town in the north, with an administrative area of 83.7 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the near Wei Town was 31278.
In March 1961, the Lishi commune and Qingyun commune were set up from Lijiang commune, belonging to Lijiang district. In February 1984, the commune was transformed into a township. In 1995, Qingyun township was merged into Qishi town and renamed Jinweizhou town. As of June 2020, Jinweizhou town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 17 administrative villages.

History of construction
During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Qingquan county.
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Hengyang County.
In July 1952, it belongs to Hengnan County.
