Duoxiang town

Duoxiang Town, formerly under the jurisdiction of Tianmen City, Hubei Province. It is located in the southeast of Tianmen City, on the North Bank of Hanjiang River, on the shore of Chenhu Lake in the north and on the Bank of Hanshui River in the South; it is adjacent to Chenhu town of Hanchuan in the East and Mayang town of Tianmen City in the West. It's 31 kilometers away from the city. It covers an area of 90 square kilometers and has a population of 68000.

Town Division

Duoxiang town was merged with Tianmen Industrial Park in 2012. The original Duoxiang town has 33 village committees and multi village committees including zhonghechang, zengzui, Xiaoyue, Duoxiang, sunling, Yanyuan, Guotai, liujiahe, zhangliu, Guozhou, jiuhugou, Banqiao, ChenWan, donghaozi, liusanjia, Zhaojiazhuang, Dongzhou, Guangrong, laoxiwan, jiuwutai, liumenlu, xialiujiahe, Guowan, Xiejiawan, Xiewan, lujiatai, lvlinkou, Meiwan, yaowan and Chenzhou Xiang neighborhood committee.

Historical evolution

From the early days of liberation to 1987, the town area and administrative division of Duoxiang town had been changed repeatedly. Mayang was the fourth constituency in 1950. It was the Fifth District of Tianmen County in 1951. In 1956, he was the guidance group of Duoxiang. In July 1958, it was Duoxiang township; in September 1958, it was Duoxiang management area of Xianfeng people's commune. In 1961, it was the Duoxiang commune of Mayang district. In October 1976, the district was demolished as Duoxiang commune. In 1978, Mayang commune was merged into Duoxiang management area. In March 1984, the government and society separated into Duoxiang Township in Mayang district. In October 1987, the district was demolished and Duoxiang town was built. Duoxiang has a long history, with the ancient names of "drag gun over" and "grab river more". It is said that in the late Yuan Dynasty, Chen Youliang and Zhu Hongwu fought for the world. In a battle in Poyang Lake, Chen Youliang's troops were defeated by Zhu Hongwu's uprising forces and fled to the south of Hanjiang River. Because the soldiers were sleepy and dragged guns across the river, they were called "tuguanguo". It is also said that in the early years of the people's Republic of China, Hu brothers, who took Chenhu as their stronghold, gathered to revolt and often led people to rob the rich and help the poor Looking at the Hanjiang River, sighing: it's really robbing the river! Therefore, it is also known as "grabbing more rivers". In order to avoid bad luck, it is renamed "Duoxiang River", which symbolizes abundant grain and good luck. Later referred to as "Duoxiang".

Duoxiang has the location advantage of "Golden Triangle". Its head pillow is Xiantao Hanjiang Bridge. Tianxian first-class highway and Hanyi high-speed railway cross the whole territory.
