Dafan town

Dafan town is located in the middle reaches of Fushui River, Cikou in the East, Yangyang in the west, Hengshi in the south, Huangsha in the north, 20 kilometers away from Tongshan County, 130 kilometers away from Wuhan City, and Hangzhou Ruizhou expressway. It is located in the radiation front of Nanchang, Huangshi, Jiujiang, Yueyang, Changsha and other large and medium-sized cities (no more than 180 kilometers), with very convenient transportation location. Dafan town is one of the earliest revolutionary bases in Southeast Hubei. The town covers an area of 171.61 square kilometers (2017), with a population of 19603 (2017). It has 13 administrative villages and a community residents committee, including Dafan, Guantang, Xiayang, Xiquan, Banqiao, Dakeng, Baini, Changtan, Heping, lumiantang, shanmuyuan, Yinshui, Gaokeng and zhujialou.

The town is rich in industrial resources. Marble resources are particularly rich, and there are many kinds of marble. Among them, "black background and white" marble is of excellent material, which is rare in China. Now there are 26 marble Tangkou and 10 marble processing plants, with an annual output of 100000 cubic meters of stone and 140000 square meters of plate. The products are sold well in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Europe, America and Southeast Asia. According to the survey of experts, the reserves of limestone and coal are also very rich. The Party committee and government of the town will take advantage of the opportunity of the construction of Ning Zhang Expressway to vigorously develop limestone resources, so as to promote the rapid economic development of the whole town.

Dafan Town, Tongshan County, Xianning City, was identified as the preferred site for nuclear power plants in China in June 2004. In October of that year, Hubei completed the research on the nuclear power project and submitted the project proposal to the national development and Reform Commission. At the same time of applying for the project, a series of preparations for supporting nuclear power were launched in full swing. In the 1990s, Dafan station's "four connections and one leveling" scheme passed the expert evaluation, and the construction of Tongshan Dafan highway with an investment of nearly 80 million yuan has now accounted for more than half of the total.

Tourism is the most important part of Dafan. There are Yinshui cave, the "king of caves" in Hubei Province, Fushui lake with charming scenery, sanchao spring with three surges in a day, crisscross ancient residential communities, Tomb of Zhu Ting, a servant of Ming Dynasty, and former residence of Wu Huaiqing, a Bachelor of Qing Dynasty. Yinshui cave is the first geological park in Hubei Province, with a total length of 5058 meters. The cave is large-scale and majestic, with an average height of 30 meters and a width of 25 meters. There are many stalactites in the cave, with lifelike anthropomorphic objects, gorge flow and waterfall cave integration. There are abundant underground streams, karst landforms and other geological landscapes in Yinshui cave, which are of great value for tourism development and scientific research. Now the development of Yinshui tunnel has been successfully completed. The diversion channel, tunnel road and dam projects with an investment of more than 10 million yuan have been completed. It is expected that they will be open to tourists in 2005.

Nowadays, Dafan town adheres to the policy of "prospering the town with tourism and enriching the people with mountains and waters". Agriculture has initially established a pattern of "orange, fish, rice, potato and corn as the leading, loquat, pear, plum and peach as the supplement". Citrus is a traditional industry in Dafan Town, which has a history of 30 years, with an annual output of more than 5000 tons. Fishery has a broad market in Dafan. There are many branches in Dafan, with a water area of 60200 mu.
