Huaqiao street is located in the north of Lengshuitan district. The residence of the town people's government is 40 km away from Lengshuitan city. It is adjacent to puliqiao town and yangcundian Township in the East, LuHong town in Dong'an County in the south, Huaqiao town in Dong'an County in the West and Nanqiao town in Dong'an County in the north. The town government is located in Huaqiao street, Huaqiao village. It governs 19 villages, including Xinpu, Shiba, Shitang, dingtang, Pingtang, fengmujing, mincun, Gaolong, Jinshanling, liangmutang, yaojiaba, wenshuitang, xiujingtou, Chalukou, Laojie, Huaqiao, luanshanling, Jiangxi Dian, Dengtang, and one neighborhood committee of Huaqiao Street. Huaqiao street is named after Huaqiao street. It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, there was a stone arch bridge with peculiar patterns, so it was named "Huaqiao". At the beginning of liberation, it was Huaqiao Township and Pingtang township. Pingtang township was merged into Huaqiao Township in 1956. In 1958, when the people's commune was transformed, it belonged to the peace commune. In 1961, Huaqiao commune was established under the jurisdiction of puliqiao district. In 1981, it was renamed "Huaqiao Street" commune because it avoided the same name as "Huaqiao commune" in Dong'an County. In 1984, huaqiaojie commune was divided into huaqiaojie Township and Pingtang township. In 1995, Pingtang Township and huaqiaojie Township were merged into huaqiaojie town. With a total area of 64.5 square kilometers, 924 hectares of arable land, 6307 households and 19179 people, the town is surrounded by mountains and numerous grain fields. It is a land of fish and rice with forest, grain and cotton. Chili, sweet potato flour and blood tofu are popular among people. It has been famous for handicraft industry since ancient times, and rattan chairs are sold all over the country. 217 provincial roads run through the north and south. The town is a flue-cured tobacco base and a key production area of trees, corn and peanuts in the cold water beach area. Its annual industrial and agricultural production value is 26 million yuan, and its annual financial revenue is 1.6322 million yuan. There are agricultural machinery repair factory, bamboo and wood processing factory, candy processing factory, brick factory, quarry, etc. There are 2 middle schools, 6 primary schools and 1 medical institution.
