Gulu street is located in the south of Xincai County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province, between Honghe River and Ruhe River. It is the seat of Xincai county Party committee and county government. It is the political, economic, cultural and information center of the whole county. National Highway 107, Minggang Linquan and Zhumadian Xincai pass through. Historical sites include Dacheng hall, Jinli temple, Xinhai revolution memorial hall, etc.

Historical evolution

Gulu has a long history. In ancient times, human beings lived and multiplied here. During the reign of Yao, Boyi assisted Yu in flood control and was granted the title of Gulu state, hence the name of Gulu. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Gulu had become a famous commercial center in the Central Plains.

Chaomei commune was established in 1958, renamed Chengguan commune in 1960, Chengguan town in 1983 and Gulu town in 1987. In 1997, it covers an area of 15.8 square kilometers and has a population of 55000. It governs four administrative villages in Donghu, Beihu, sanliwan and Xijiao, and six neighborhood committees in Renmin Street, Shengli Street, Xinhua Street, Heping Street, Shangmao street and Dazhong street.

In 2011, Gulu town was abolished and Gulu street was set up, with jurisdiction over 7 neighborhood committees of Shengli Street, Heping Street, Xinhua Street, Dazhong street, Renmin Street, Zhenxing street and Xicheng street, and 4 village committees of Donghu, Beihu, sanliwan and Xijiao. The office is located in the former Gulu town government.
