Donghong town

Donghong town is located in the north central part of Shangcai County. Donghongji, the seat of the town government, is 12.5 kilometers away from the county. The township has a total of 28 administrative villages and 109 natural villages, with a total population of 50678 (in 2017), and a cultivated area of 131000 mu.

Remove villages and build towns

Donghong town is the largest town in the county, which is formed by the combination of Donghong and Shiqiao. S206 Shangtong road passes through the town and meets with Honghe River at donghongji. The town is connected with caidu office in the west, Qihai Township in the south, Zhuli town in the north, Hanzhai Township in the East, Xihong and Xiaoyue temple in the northwest and taqiao town in the southeast. On July 27, 2010, Donghong township was removed and Donghong town was built.

Donghongji is a big market town with a long history. It has a prosperous market, a wide range of material exchanges and a large market transaction throughput. Especially in recent years, the township party committee and government have strengthened the construction of the fair market, invested 2 million yuan to expand the Henan fair market, and introduced 3 million yuan to build the Jibei agricultural market. The two markets have the function of purchasing and selling a variety of products, promoting the diversified operation of the township. Since the completion of Shangtong road around donghongxin Road, the township government has made a new scientific planning for donghongji. Along both sides of the new road, new development zones, commercial administrative areas, communications and other industries will be built here, so as to expand the framework of market towns and promote the effective development of the construction of new socialist countryside.

Historical evolution

Donghong township was set up in 1935, the Central Township was changed in 1956, the commune was established in 1959, and the township was restored in 1983. In 1997, with an area of 56 square kilometers and a population of 54000, it has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages in Henan, Hebei, Zhaolou, Nanxu, Beixu, Houzhuang, Zhangzhai, Yushe, danghuzhang, yangshenzhuang, daluchen, taotai, Dali, Liuzhai, Maozhuang, dadongzhuang, Zengchen, Lilou, Nanmeng, Suqiao, Xinpeng, Zhaozhuang, Kangzhuang, zhanglongwu, Zhuangtou, Mengzhuang, caiyao and Chenglou. In 2005, Shiqiao township was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Donghong township. Donghong township was built on July 27, 2010. It is the most populous Township in Zhumadian City.
