Xixiating town

Xixiating town is located in the south of Xihua county, 18 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Huangqiao Township and Huangfan District farm in the East, Xiaoyao town in the west, Zhangming Township in Shangshui County across the river in the south, aigang Township in the north and yebukou Township in the East. G344 national highway runs through the whole town, more than 10 kilometers away from the entrance of Xihua of Anluo Expressway (from the airport to Xihua).

Human history

Xixia pavilion town was called Fenghuang collection in ancient times. In the spring and Autumn period, the imperial uncle Sima Xia of the state of Chen granted the capital, and his son Zhengshu built the Dongxia Pavilion as his mother. After that, he built the pavilion again. Because it was opposite to the city, it was named Xixia Pavilion.

Historical evolution

The third district was built in 1949, renamed xixiating Central Township in 1956, xixiating people's commune was established in 1958, xixiating township was changed in 1984, xixiating town was established in 1986.

Administrative planning

Xixiating town has 27 administrative villages and 65 natural villages. The administrative villages include Houzhu village, Yangchang village, huzhai village, Zhuwan village, Tanzhuang village, dadingzhang village, Wangzhuang village, caowan village, fengxiansi village, Houzhai village, Gaozhuang village, zhanzhuang village, Motai village, qiangao village, sidukou village, qiancang village, Zhangzhuang village, Zhuyuan village, Fangzhuang village, Yangzhuang village, Yangchang village, Lucheng village, Yuanzhuang village Houcang village, Qianji village, zhuangpu village, zhangbailou village and Wuzhuang village have a population of 46601 (in 2017), an area of 73.11 square kilometers and a cultivated land of 76496 mu.

The town is mainly engaged in agriculture, forest and fruit industry and breeding industry. Its crops are rich in wheat, corn and cotton. Its specialties are watermelon, small white melon, greenhouse vegetables, early spring melon in greenhouse, celery in winter greenhouse, black fungus, Pleurotus ostreatus, pepper, Pepper King and asparagus. It is one of the bases of cotton production, forest and fruit industry in Xihua county. The breeding industry is mainly composed of pigs, cows, yellow cattle, chickens and sheep. There are more than 150000 live pigs and nearly 400 cows per year. There is a large amount of fresh fruit storage, cold storage and pan District farms are connected into a group, and the fruit is supplied to the market all year round. The fruit customers gather, and the fruit is sold to Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen and other places.

Geohydrology

Xixiating town belongs to the north temperate semi humid climate zone, with four distinct seasons, abundant light and temperature, and rich soil, gas, water and biological resources. In winter, it is dry and cold with little snow, and in summer, it is hot and rainy. The average annual temperature is 14.2 ℃, 0.1 ℃ in January, 27.2 ℃ in July, and the average annual sunshine is 2289 hours. The frost free period is 216 days. The annual precipitation is 747mm, mostly from July to September.

Xixiating town is located in the area of Shahe and Yinghe River, and the plain area is impacted by Shahe and Yinghe river. The terrain is flat, the north is mixed soil, the south is silt, and the middle is sandy loam. There are reconstruction ditch and windward canal throughout the territory for irrigation and drainage.

Cultural sites

Xixiating town has a long history and many historical relics. At present, there are five cultural sites, including Lucheng, huzhai, yushuwang, dadingzhang, xixiating Pavilion, which belong to the county-level cultural relics protection units.
