Longgu Township

Longgu Township, located in the northwest of Huangchuan County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, has a total area of 74.41 square kilometers (2017), including 70000 mu of cultivated land and 21868 people (2017). It governs 11 administrative villages and 228 villager groups, including Longgu village, xieweizi village, Zhangzhuang village, gaodaochang Village, wangweizi village, baozikou village, Wuzhuang village, Zhongxin village, Xuzhuang village, Gaoying village and Fenglou village. There are scenic spots in the territory of the ruins of the ancient city of the yellow state.

Historical evolution

In the late Western Zhou Dynasty and the early spring and Autumn period, it was the state of Huang. Longgu district was established in 1950, Central Township in 1954, commune in 1958, district in 1961, commune in 1965 and township in 1983. In 1997, with an area of 82.6 square kilometers and a population of 27000, it has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages including Longgu, Zhangzhuang, gaodaochang, wangweizi, baozikou, Zhongxin, xieweizi, Wuzhuang, Gaoying, Fenglou, Xuzhuang and Fangdian.

Longgu township is a transition zone from subtropical zone to warm temperate zone. It is rich in wheat, rice, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, etc. Tanghu, Kuba, Tanghu, Kuba, Tanghu and Kuba are scattered all over the township. The transportation is convenient. National Highway 106, Huangbao highway cross the whole territory. Ningxi railway cross the whole township. The communication is convenient and the information is widely spread. Cultural relics

Longgu township has a long history and splendid culture. According to the unearthed relics of the state of Huang and the argumentation of archaeologists, there were traces of human activities as early as 7000 years ago. In the late Western Zhou Dynasty and the early spring and Autumn period, it was the state of Huang and was once the hometown of Huang Xie, one of the four gentlemen of the Warring States period. There is also a relatively complete ancient city site of HuangGuo. There are dozens of historic sites. Among them, HuangGuo ancient tombs are designated as the national key cultural relics protection objects.
