GuZi town
GuZi Town, known as zhengjiadian in ancient times, was under the jurisdiction of Huangchuan County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. According to the records of Guangzhou in the Qing Dynasty, there was zhengjiadian 60 miles north of the state.
Guazi town is an important ferry and market town on the Huaihe River. It is located near the intersection of Huaihe River and Xiaohuanghe River on the northeast edge of Huangchuan County, more than 30 kilometers away from Huangchuan County. It is adjacent to Huaihe River in the north, Xixian county and Huaibin across Huaihe River, shangyougang Township in the East and Lailong Township in the South and West.
The town covers an area of 54 square kilometers (2017), and now governs 8 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, 159 villager groups, and 26914 people (2017) in GuZi Street neighborhood committee, GuZi village, Lianghe village, Huainan village, Shenghuai village, Zhangwan village, Bali village, songdaqiao village and Luogang village. The town has 30187 mu of cultivated land, including 20000 mu of paddy field and 10187 mu of dry land.
Historical evolution
In the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to Chu and Qin to Jiujiang county. The Han Dynasty belongs to Yiyang. Since Sui and Tang Dynasties, it belongs to Guangzhou. According to the records of Guangzhou in Qing Dynasty, there is a zhengjiadian in the north of Guangzhou. In 1913, the government of Guangzhou Prefecture was renamed Huangchuan County. It was the seat of the three District People's Government of Huangchuan County in the early days of liberation. It was established in 1985 with the approval of the people's Government of GuZi town.
