Shisanliqiao Township

Shisanliqiao Township belongs to Shihe District, Xinyang City, Henan Province. It is located 3 kilometers southwest of Xinyang City, 2.9 kilometers away from 107 national highway. The provincial highway Xinying highway passes through. The township is adjacent to the five-star office in the north, Liulin and Tanjiahe in the south, dongshuanghe in the East, and the beautiful Nanwan Lake in the West. The terrain is low in the northeast and high in the southwest. It is known as "Six Mountains, two rivers, one farmland, one road and Manor".

Historical evolution

It belonged to dongshuanghe commune in 1958, built shishiliqiao commune in 1964 and changed to township in 1983. It covers an area of 101.7 square kilometers (2017) and has a population of 33181 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages and 1 community neighborhood committee, including shiliqiao, Yeqiao, Hewan, qiangwan, xiaojiamiao, xuetanggang, huangwan, yewan, Zuoli, Xiaomiao, Sihe, tangmiao, yanmiao, Qingshiqiao and Lianhuatang. In 1998, the former Xinyang County was put under the jurisdiction of Shihe district.

Shisanliqiao township is a hilly area with shallow mountains in the South and southwest. The terrain in the township inclines from southwest to northeast. The main rivers in the territory are shisanliqiao River and dongshuanghe tributaries.

The township governs 15 administrative villages and 207 villager groups, including shisanliqiao village, tangmiao village, yanmiao village, Qingshiqiao village, Lianhuatang village, yewan village, Yeqiao village, Hewan village, qiangwan village, xiaojiamiao village, huangwan village, xuetanggang village, Zuoli village, Xiaomiao village and Sihe village, with a total number of 11038 households and a total population of 33181 (2017).
