Yuling town

Yuling town is subordinate to Lingbao City, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, which is located in the inter provincial edge of Henan, Qin and Jin provinces. It is a warm temperate continental monsoon arid climate with four distinct seasons. There are 31 kinds of nonferrous metals, such as gold, silver, copper, lead, iron and so on. There are scenic spots such as Yawu mountain, Yanggong temple and so on.

The town covers an area of 182.15 square kilometers (2017). Yuling town governs 22 administrative villages and 248 villager groups. The permanent population of the town is 60135 (2017).

In 2013, the town completed 3.98 billion yuan of fixed asset investment, 5.39 billion yuan of GDP and 55.17 million yuan of fiscal revenue.

In 2013, Yuling town successively won the honorary titles of "provincial health township", "meritorious unit of the city's target assessment", "advanced unit of walnut science and technology demonstration park construction" and "advanced unit of safety creation".

In July 2020, Yuling town was confirmed as the National Health Township in 2019 by the National Patriotic Health Association.

Historical evolution

Yuling town was originally named Kaidi township (the old town of Kaixiang county).

In the third year of kaihuang (583), Hongnong county and Wenxiang county were abolished, and Guozhou was established.

In 596, Hucheng county was changed into Wenxiang county.

In the first year of Yining (617), Hucheng county was restored, and Wenxiang county (Yuling) still existed, belonging to Henan county.

In 618, Fenglin county changed its name to Dingzhou (originally named after the Ding made by the Yellow Emperor of Wenxiang) and moved to Wenxiang.

In song, Liao and Jin Dynasties, Wenxiang belonged to Shanzhou.

In the second year of the Yuan Dynasty (1265), Hucheng of the province entered Wendi township (the county is now Wendi town).

In the Ming Dynasty, Wenxiang belonged to Henan Prefecture and then to Shanzhou. Wenxiang county was moved to the former site of Tanghu city.

In the Qing Dynasty, Lingbao and Wenxiang belonged to Shanzhou.

In the early years of the Republic of China, Wenxiang belonged to Yuxi Road, Henan Province. Wenxiang belonged to the 11th administrative region of Henan Province in 1933.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Lingbao and Wenxiang were originally under the jurisdiction of Shaanxi Province.

In April 1952, Wenxiang belonged to Luoyang special area.

In June 1954, Lingbao and Wenxiang joined the county to govern the old Lingbao City.

Wendi commune was established in Wenxiang in 1958.

In 1983, the township was changed.

In 1987, Yuling town was built.

From 1996 to 2006, Yuling town was subordinate to Lingbao City.
