Fanli town is located in the east of Lushi County, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. The town government is located in Houyu village, 17.5km away from the county. The town has a total area of 311.62 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 34 administrative villages, with a total population of 37000 and a permanent population of 35360 (2017). There are five ethnic groups, mainly Han nationality. The town is the largest area town and population town in Lushi County.

Historical evolution

According to the Qing Dynasty Qianlong Guangxu edition of "rebuilding Lushi County annals", during the Warring States period, Fan Li, a Yue official, helped Yue to destroy Wu.
