Shixiang town is located in the southeast of Changge City, Henan Province. It is 20km away from Changge in the west, 25km away from Xuchang in the south, 20km away from Xinzheng International Airport in the north, adjacent to Xiaozhao Township and chencao Township in Jian'an District in the south, and adjacent to the old town, Dongcun town and Guqiao town in Changge in the west, North and East. The provincial highway Kaifeng Xuchang crosses north and south, the provincial highway Penghua (s325) runs east and West, and the new national highway 107 passes through. The total area of the town is 56 square kilometers, 58000 mu of arable land.

Evolution of organizational system

In 1984, Shixiang people's commune was renamed Shixiang township. On December 19, 2013, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs approved Shixiang town to be built from township to Shixiang town. On February 28, 2014, Shixiang town was officially established.
