Fenchen town is located in the north of Xiangcheng County, Henan Province, 15 kilometers away from the county. It faces Yingyang town and Yinghui town in the East, Wangluo town in the west, kuzhuang town in the South and fanpo township of Yuzhou City in the north. Yingzhong highway crosses the East and West, connecting National Highway 311 in the East and provincial highway 103 in the West. Alishan road and Yingzhong highway meet in a "t" shape at the township government station. Every village in the township has a highway, with convenient transportation and obvious location advantages. The total area of the township is 45.2 square kilometers. There are highways connecting Zheng (Zhou) and Nan (Yang) highways. Historical sites include Fenqiu city site.

In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.

Historical evolution

On December 22, 2017, with the approval of the people's Government of Henan Province, it was agreed that Yuzhou City should abolish Changzhuang township to establish Changzhuang Town, Yanling County should abolish Mafang township to establish Mafang Town, Xiangcheng County should abolish fenchen township to establish fenchen Town, so as to implement the system of town governing village, and the administrative regions and government residences under its jurisdiction will remain unchanged.

Economics

The town is characterized by tobacco planting, which is a major agricultural town with corn, wheat, sweet potato and other crops. The tobacco planting area is maintained at about 15000 Mu throughout the year.

History and culture

Fenchen town has rich historical and cultural heritage. In the spring and Autumn period, fenchen town was named Fenqiu, which is said to be near Fenhe River. Here, to the point, "Zuo Zhuan" contains: "in the 18th year of Xianggong (555 BC), Chu Tzu Geng commanded the army in Fen." In the southwest of the town, there is a hill 117 meters above sea level, named bashigang, which is named after the tomb of "Zhou Bashi". "The Analects of Confucius · Weizi" says: "there are eight scholars in Zhou: Boda, Boshi, Zhongtu, Zhonghu, Shuxia, Shuye, jisui, Jixiang." According to historical records, Zhou Baishi, surnamed Yi, lived in the village of Banpodian in the east of gang. The ancient cultural heritage of bashigang is not only comparable to that of Shoushan in the south of the county, but also the only landmark of xiangbanchao culture. At present, there are Fenqiu city site, Zhou Bashi tomb, WangMeng temple and other ancient cultural relics.
