Mazhuang Hui Nationality Village

Mazhuang Hui Township in Ye County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province is one of the 12 nationality townships in Henan Province and the only nationality township in Ye County. Mazhuang Hui Township is located 2 kilometers southeast of Ye County. The township government is located in Mazhuang village. It was established in May 1985. The township is adjacent to Tianzhuang Township in the East, West and south, and faces Chengguan Township across Huihe River in the north. At present (2017), the township has 8 administrative villages, 17 natural villages and 35 villager groups, including 3 Hui villages, 2 Hui Han Heju villages and 3 Han villages, with a total area of 10.59 square kilometers and a total population of 11990 (2017).

Since the 1990s, based on its own advantages, the township has gradually formed a pillar industry with halal food processing as the core. With rapid economic development, it has been named as "the first township of yellow cattle product development in Central Plains" and "champion township" by the Ministry of agriculture and other departments. In recent years, Mazhuang Hui Township ranked in the top 15 in the comprehensive strength evaluation of 93 townships in 2004 and 2005.

In 1985, with the approval of Henan Provincial People's government, Mazhuang, Lizhuang, Shuiguo, leizhuang, dachenzhuang, Xilou, xiaohezhao, Zhangzhuang and other eight administrative villages with more Hui people living or living in Tianzhuang township of Yexian County were set up.

Mazhuang Hui nationality township has flat terrain and convenient transportation. Zheng (Zhou) Nan (Yang) highway passes through the west of the township from north to south, with a length of 3 km. Ping (Dingshan) Wu (steel District) railway passes through the northeast of the township, with a length of 2 km. Another Xu Pingnan Expressway passes through the territory with convenient transportation. The township is adjacent to the county seat, there are direct buses to the township government, only 10 minutes away. The location advantage is obvious.

Mazhuang Hui nationality township is located in the center of the large-scale salt belt in Ye County, where the underground salt mine is extremely rich. In December 1986, the potash Geological Brigade of the Ministry of chemical industry explored and found that the salt zone covers an area of about 400 square kilometers, with a reserve of 200 billion tons. It is a super large high-quality salt mine. In May 1987, the drilling ceremony of "wuxierjing" in Yexian salt mine was held in Mazhuang Hui Township, attended by provincial, municipal and county leaders. In December of the same year, the well was renamed "No.1 salt well in Zhongyuan Yantian, Ye County".

traditional culture

Mazhuang Hui nationality township is the largest Hui Nationality Settlement in Ye County, and also the largest minority nationality settlement. The religious belief of the residents is mainly Islam. There are five mosques in the township, accounting for nearly one third of the county. Mazhuang mosque covers an area of 5 mu. According to the existing stone tablets of Santong, it was rebuilt several times in Xianfeng, Tongzhi and Guangxu years of the Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt after its establishment in 1985.

As of 2006, there was one middle school in Mazhuang Hui Township, namely Yexian middle school. There are three Huimin primary schools, namely Mazhuang primary school, Yucai primary school and leizhuang primary school.
