Located 23 kilometers northeast of Lankao County, Guyang town is at the junction of two provinces and three counties. It borders Dongming County of Shandong Province in the north, faces Caoxian County in the East, passes through national highways 220 and 106, and rinan expressway. It is an important road from Henan to Southwest Shandong.

Evolution of organizational system

In March 1783, the new town of zhukaocheng county was built in Yuyang. In 1949, the county government moved from Yuyang town to the south. In 1950, it was changed into the Second District of kaucheng county. In 1954, it was abolished. The west of kaucheng county was divided into Lankao County. Yuyang was subordinate to Lankao County. In 1954, it was the Fourth District of Lankao County. In 1956, it was established as Yuyang Township, in 1958, in 1984, and in 1986, it was established as Yuyang commune, in 1984, and in 1986.
