Anju Street

Anju street is located in the west of Jining Grand Canal, west of Rencheng District, east of Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, west of xintiaohe in Jiaxiang, south of Tangkou street, north of Nanzhang street and Changgou town. geographical position

Historical evolution

The town got its name from Anju village. The village was close to the canal frequently. Before the Song Dynasty, there were two surnames, Tian and Zhu, who lived here (the name of the village was unknown at that time). In the Yuan Dynasty, the population of the village increased, the street yamen expanded, and it was also a flood and drought wharf. The traffic hub and the business were prosperous. It is an important local market town, known as Anju town. In the Ming Dynasty, Zhao, Shi, Wang and other surnames lived here together (the origin of the above surnames is unknown). They were still called Anju Town, and after liberation they were referred to as Anju town. The name of "living in peace" means peace in the world, living and working in peace and contentment, which reflects people's pursuit of social peace and tranquility. After 1949, it was the eighth District of Jiaxiang County, which was assigned to Jining County in 1956. Anju commune was established in 1958, renamed Anju Township in 1984, and established a town in 1985. In 1997, with an area of 75.9 square kilometers and a population of 69000, Anju town of Rencheng district was put under the jurisdiction of Shizhong District in 2008. In 2010, the town was removed and the streets were set up.
