Yuhuashan town

Yuhuashan town is located in the hilly area in the south of Fengcheng City. It is named after yuhuashan, a famous local scenic spot. It is 32 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to railway town and Luoshi town in the East, Xingan County, Zhangshu City and Lichun town in the west, Shijiang Township in the South and Qiaodong town in the north. It has 14 village committees, 1 neighborhood committee and 167 village groups with a total population of 27000. The total area of the township is 139.139 square kilometers, including 33000 mu of cultivated land and 100000 mu of mountain forest. Gan dialect is the local dialect.

Historical evolution

There is a lake at the gate of the government. Lotus roots are planted in the lake. Every summer, lotus flowers bloom all over the lake, so it is called Lotus Lake, later renamed yuhuashan town. Before liberation, it belonged to Hehu, Fengshan and Aihu. It was liberated in May 1949. In 1950, it set up seven townships, namely Xinze, Kangzhuang, checao, Muxi, hope, Siyi and Shenghua. In 1958, the four townships of Xinze, Kangzhuang, checao and Shuixi merged to form Hehu commune, and the three townships of hope, Siyi and Shenghua merged to form Shijiang commune (changed to hope forest farm in 1972 and hope commune in 1973). In 1984, Hehu Township and Hope Township were established.
